Background of the Problem

India has emerged as a hub for a highly diverse and vibrant online news media industry. Online news is disseminated through websites as well as social media platforms. In this regard, a mechanism for identification of such publishers of news and current affairs content over the digital media is required. 

Objective

The solution may only analyze the nature of content on various websites and social media handles of news publishers operating in India, and identify them. The solution is required to be effective across major Indian regional languages, and may also be capable of identifying and recording the contact details of such publishers, wherever available.

Summary

India has become a centre for a thriving and very diverse internet news media business. Social media platforms and websites are used to share online news. In this context, a system for identifying such digital media publishers of news and current affairs information is needed. The only way to find them is to study the type of information on different websites and social media accounts used by Indian news companies. The system should work across the main regional languages spoken in India and, if accessible, should be able to recognise and capture the contact information for such publishers.
