Problem Statement

IoT based sensors  to determine the Machine Runtime

IoT-based sensors can be used to calculate the machine’s run time, idle time, and utilisation. The same data should be projected in a dashboard to show the machine’s status, power usage, and utilisation in real time.

To provide a way to create smart work apparel with embedded sensors that securely convey information to managers about dangerous situations and the physical state of the workers, enhancing overall safety.

Background of the Problem

“IoT based sensors can be used to determine the Machine Run time, idle time and utilisation and should project the same data in a dashboard to give status, power consumption and real time machine utilisation. Developing such solutions for MSMEs like:  IoT for acoustic leak detection, to be installed in hazardous and high flammable zones, Developing IoT based smart agriculture to manage, improve productivity and efficiency of small farms, To monitor and reduce water consumption during various processes, To find out major causes of machine breakdown. To give preventive maintenance updates in real time.

Objective

To give a solution to design smart work clothing that has sensors embedded in it to securely transmit data to managers about hazardous conditions and the workers’ physical conditions, improving safety overall.”

Summary

Mining workers are affected by many hazards – from ventilation problems, mine flooding, gas explosions, ceiling collapsing, mine haulage, sudden inrushes and mine inundation, spontaneous combustion, to un-optimized evacuation routes. And mine operators have been working for decades to ensure no fatal accident results in death, injury, or poor health of miners.Machines are valuable assets that need to be protected from damage and failure through proper maintenance measures.
